Asteroid City (5/10 stars)
No Comprendo
Hope I’m not the only one confused after the first watch-through -- it’s one of those movies that require multiple revisits to grasp full comprehension, but unlike Tenet, Asteroid City’s story is perplexing simply for no ground reason. Well I guess you can excavate a few gems from this barren piece of work, including the director stylistic signature, the baffling mixtape of philosophies, and the notably extravagant casting. However, I’ll be blunt, the movie fails as an entertainment, and I didn’t quite enjoy the singularly lecturing tone. Of course it says about something, and I’m sure someone will have the spirit to decipher the film in his analytical video, but the bar is way too high for regular audience.
