As a huge fan of Chen Chang, the leading actor of Love and Destiny, I felt unbelievable when I heard about this TV drama for the first time, since Chang had been known as a picky person about scripts and creative teams. Why did a reputable movie star choose this fantasy story as his debut on TV screen?
With such doubts, I watched this 60-episodes TV drama and found it incredibly attractive. I love every single minute of it, and have to admit that it's the best fantasy drama in recent years!
First of all, the storyline is addicting and really draws people in. It's a beatiful romance between Lingxi, a kind-hearted young girl who carries the strength of the Dark Lord, and Jiuchen, the God of Wars who is dedicated himself to destroying devils and pretecting all the good people in this world.
Second, the casting is perfect. Both leading actor Chen Chang and leading actress Ni Ni give their fantastic performances in this drama. They can keep their facial expressions to a minimum yet and are able to express their feelings so much. The awesome chemistry between them makes audience really believeing in their love and watching the story with empathy.
Furthermore, the animation is great and costumes are gorgeous. With a background of ancient Chinese tales, many legendary creatures and scenes have shown up in this drama. Virtual creatures and real characters work together wonderfully with CGI's help. Also, Motion Control technique brings us several amazing full-length shots, which make people unforgettable. Besides, the costumes are fine-designed and perfectly match the timeline and personalities of characters.
Above are what impress me the most. I strongly recommend this drama to those who love fantasy and romantic story. It's definitely worth watching.
