I never thought I would write a review for this one, guess I haven't thought about many things!
I came cross this film one year ago, and have watched some clips of it, but never got the chance to download the whole movie. By the time I finished the whole movie, I was melt.
Sherilyn Fenn(April) is one of the most beautiful actresses I have ever seen, sensual, corky, definitely irresistible. But the southern heiress has a problem(hehe, surprise, surprise), her wants passion but don't have the courage to break away the sealed fate. She can't resist the temptation, (but it seems to me Richard Tyson, Perry, is exactly what she wants deep inside), the two has incredible chemistry together, I really like the dynamics between April and Perry, April would always be there, the rest is about Perry, he would 'badly' semi-seduces her in various occasions, hot, hot hot! Although they have moments of argument, it turns out to be lovers banters, cute, cute, cute! It is mostly between falling out sex and making up sex, but it doesn't matter anyway, the film is not supposed to be a best Academy motion picture.
I remember a scene, the last big love scene. April tells a story about how she and her cousins used to go to two moon junction, play, have a good time and watch mum and dad, she strips to naked, blindfold herself and pretend to play as in her childhood, Perry responds "I'm not your cousins"."What cousins?!"April then tears his shirt, he upholds her in the air, utters "What do you want?" she gently and voluntarily kisses him...all the love scenes are so steamy, plus the music, the beautiful southern scenery, sweet southern accent, those are all so haunting!
Sensuality or stability, love or lust, who can tell, who cares! Don't take the story too seriously, coz you don't find much ahead, even Fenn feels embarrassed about how it turns out to be, the film never really become too big of a topic, and actors never become too big of a star. But to some of us, the film really is a grand ticket to lala land.
