I think the quote also neatly encapsulates a part of his character that I had trouble understanding fully before. Logan always looks unimpressed with the glamorous surroundings he finds himself in. That could be because he’s so used to them. But, I also think it’s because he believes it’s all artifice: a trap that makes people weak. It doesn’t matter. It’s flowery and effeminate, all chivalry and show ponies, like knights from a fairytale. At the end, he’s still the bare knuckled corporate brawler from Dundee with the scars (literally) to prove it. It could also explain why he’s so reluctant to retire. He doesn’t actually enjoy the fruits of his labour. The labour is the only thing that has meaning for him. Without it, he might as well be dead.
