[The 1st 57 mins - a commodity on sale]
A product with a price tag available at specific locations supported by a set of marketing strategies. There ain't much about struggles of a person, relationships or money whatsoever, it looks entirely like a marketing discourse analysis.
How a product is branded, then up-sell to earn the best bucks. The strategies employed are very real too - while Chelsea wanna work on search engine marketing, she was advised to go for a specific site and asked for reviews to reach a wider audience - social media marketing, isn't that what we all are doing too?
As a movie though, it is a very detached piece which does not have the power to involve the audience to follow its lead (somehow the nonlinear narratives had caused abrupt distractions that disconnect the audience from the story).
If however that is the sentiment which the movie had tried to illustrate about the whole girlfriend experience, I guess the high definition video cam had helped a bit along the deal.
[The last 15 mins]
Assuming the director had spent 57mins to build a story, the last 15mins were spent on pinpointing the ideas that the director wanted to say in the first place, does it look like a revelation or is that too late?
Money, what one does against who one is and how one feels, consumption against human affections. A slight touch on each, none too deep.
