Judge Deed goes to the International Court of Justice in Brussels to hear the case of Pvt. David Clark who is accused of murdering 11 Iraqi civilians while on patrol in Basra. Deed doesn't get along with his two co-judges and dislikes their approach to justice. The prosecutor in particularly strident and a thorn in his side. In the UK, Deed hears an appeal along with two other judges of someone who was convicted of inciting hatred against Islam.
