Plot Summary:In a film that recalls the memories of the director's youth in Miyazaki Prefecture in Southern Japan during World War II, the local population is working hard in factories, on the road and the land aiding the war effort and preparing to defend against the impending invading American army. Life goes on amidst the deaths, turmoil and tragedy, but these are not usual times.
