通过这部纪录片可以了解到海运全貌，不过片子片子基本上主要对准的还是装货和卸货，每集都会跟踪三条运输线，从红薯到空客零件，从海上石油钻井台到豪华游艇。纪录片看个前面两集就基本了解码头日常了，没必要八集全看完。后面所有剧集基本上和前面一样，唯一变动的运输的货物不一样了而已，最关键是这个纪录片四十分钟内重复内容极其之多，主要是为了延长放送时间吧，而且每集三条运输线的剪辑也是混着来，这个讲个五分钟就突然切到另一条线去，切来切去放了一大堆重复的东西。另外片子主要对准的是美国以及英国码头，可能也是资金有限吧，感觉有点局限。
