19世纪末，美国与西班牙争霸，为夺取西班牙殖民地菲律宾，美国策动菲律宾人起义，起义军围困西班牙军队于Baler城。菲律宾少女Feliza偏偏与一名混血西班牙士兵Celso相爱，Feliza的父亲是坚定的反西班牙战士，这份禁忌之恋注定要历经磨难。
