一望无垠的沙漠上，阿布·哈桑（加斯·维基 Gus Wickie 配音）率领四十大盗纵横驰骋，嚣张跋扈，他们挥舞着弯刀，骑乘烈马，沿途洗劫每一处的金银财宝。另一边厢，大力水手卜派（杰克·梅瑟 Jack Mercer 配音）和奥莉弗（梅伊·奎斯托尔 Mae Questel 配音）以及爱吃汉堡包的维姆皮先生（洛·弗雷舍 Lou Fleischer 配音）正享受悠闲的时光。突然，他们从广播中听到阿布·哈桑的恶行，于是驾驶小船改装的飞机前往沙特阿拉伯的沙漠。谁知半路发动机出现故障，大力水手一行坠落沙漠，饥渴难耐之际，他们终于来到一座小镇，准备好好饱餐一顿。 就在此时，四十大盗突然出现，灾难降临……
Upon hearing of the evil deeds of the bandit Abu Hassan, Popeye, accompanied by Olive Oyl and J. Wellington Wimpy, flies to Arabia. Olive is kidnapped by Abu Hassan, who forces her to do the laundry for his Forty Thieves. Popeye sneaks into their hideout to rescue her, but finds himself outnumbered forty-one to one.
