交通部门大罢工使得全国交通瘫痪。在巴黎的里昂火车站，胸怀大志的高级职员Marc想乘火车前往罗马签署一个重要的合同，他遇到了与他几乎没有任何相同之处的樊尚，两人决定共乘一辆汽车，一路上Marc夸赞自由经济的好处，樊尚则捍卫罢工的权利。
